Whats Happening in Our Classroom Lately:
Reading: We are currently reading the classic novel "Pollyanna". We have an AR goal of 32 points for this final quarter!
Spelling: Each week, we focus on various long and short vowel sounds to improve our spelling proficiency. We have spelling tests every Friday.
Grammar: Our grammar lessons cover essential topics such as nouns, capitalization, punctuation, contractions, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, pronouns, and sentence combining, helping students build a strong foundation in writing.
Math: In math, we are exploring multi-step story problems, symmetry, fractions, and repeat addition (introducing multiplication). Math facts (fluency tests) are given on Fridays.
Social Studies: Unit 6, we are studying economics. We are identifying wants and needs and learning how to budget and manage money. We are also learning about consumers, producers, goods, services, and about international trading.
Science: We are learning about plants! We are studying what plants need to survive and how they provide for us.
Bible: We are studying the story of Jericho.
Handwriting: We are working on completing all of our lower case cursive letters.
